Happy Father’s Day

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

We’ve collected a few quotes for all our Dads out there. Hope you are having an awesome day.

“Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad.” — Anne Geddes

“My father always used to say that when you die, if you’ve got five real friends, you’ve had a great life.” — Elbert Hubbard

“When I was a kid, I said to my father one afternoon, ‘Daddy, will you take me to the zoo?’ He answered, ‘If the zoo wants you, let them come and get you.’” — Jerry Lewis

“Life was a lot simpler when what we honored was father and mother rather than all major credit cards.” — Robert Orben

“By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.” — Charles Wadsworth

City of Virginia Beach awards Sajo Farm…again!

~
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
~
Napolitano Homes, our partner at Sajo Farm, made a blog post about our collective Stewardship Development Award from the City celebrating our shared commitment to the Virginia Beach community. This award represents the highest level of recognition for preservation of natural features, open spaces and habitat as well as protection of existing wetlands and wildlife during the Sajo Farm developmental process. The community must be energy efficient, have a focus on water conservation AND even the preservation of existing trees.

I have to say it is a pleasure to work with such an outstanding builder. You guys rock.

Sajo Farm’s historic black oak is in the news!

Friday, April 9th, 2010

As we get closer to Earth Day, we are proud to pass along the success of our efforts to save one of Virginia’s largest black oak trees. This beautiful tree stands 90 feet tall at the center of our Sajo Farm new home community  in Virginia Beach. We have gone to great lengths to preserve this special tree and are proud to share our story! You can read about the tree and the preservation efforts in a recent Virginian Pilot article and in the March/April issue of Tidewater Builder Magazine.

Kudos to Daniel Spivey, Assistant Land Development Manager at The Terry-Peterson Companies and Kim Edwards, a certified arborist with LandMark Design Group for their hard work and perseverance.
